Training With LTC

At LTC we have a range of activities for all three disciplines. These range from casual and social sessions to more dedicated coaching sessions.

See below for the times and meeting places for some of our activities. You’re welcome to turn up and chat to our members, and even take part in a couple of sessions, before formally joining the club.

Swim Training

In general, we run sea swimming sessions form May to October inclusive. Weather and conditions permitting of course.

Please note the following for your own safety:

  1. Unless specifically stated these are not coached sessions and you swim at your own risk
  2. Conditions can vary considerably and you should always check on the state of the tide
  3. We suggest that you buddy up with someone and make sure that someone knows when you’ve got out safely and if you’re new please introduce yourself!
  4. We also advise you swim with a hat (LTC hats available to buy for £5) and float (see the following link www.proswimwear.co.uk) to make yourself as visible as possible:

Bike Training

Safety is paramount so make sure you are:

  1. Well equipped with a bike that is in good condition, a good helmet and ideally gloves. No helmet, no ride
  2. Familiar with the Highway code (in particular small well spaced groups, never more than 2 abreast and single file on narrow roads)
  3. Familiar with some of the protocols for riding in groups (hand signals for potholes, obstructions, turning, slowing and stopping….see internet for details
  4. It is recommended that riders have their own Public Liability Insurance (about £26/yr visit britishtriathlon.org for details)

We welcome prospective new members but it is best to contact the club in advance so that the cycling captain can brief you beforehand:

Please contact the club if you are interested.
